This quarter's lunchtime lecture artist was the cartoonist Lily May. They talked about their journey in growing their career as a freelance artist and how influential social media was in that process. They also discussed the different ways they earn money through their commissions, and the process to create a comic. It was so interesting to hear about the steps for making a comic, such as script-writing, storyboarding, and inking. I loved Lily's use of ink and watercolor because they looked so beautiful together and the artwork was so visually amazing. I'm really glad I went to this lecture because it was so interesting to hear about the career of a former Walker student and I really loved getting to learn about such a unique artist!
