This week, we visited the Scholastic Art Awards show at VisArts. It was really interesting to see what other people my age were making. I noticed there were a lot of portraits and figurative works in the gold key section. It also seemed like a majority of the sculptural works had won silver keys, and there weren't very many in the gold key section, which seemed a little odd to me. It's interesting to consider what won gold vs. silver keys. It seemed like in general, the gold key pieces were larger scale than the silver key pieces. Additionally, I noticed a lot of really fascinating compositions and poses for the gold key pieces. I took a lot of pictures of artwork I liked, and I gained some inspiration for my own work. Overall, it was really great to see the Scholastic show and I loved seeing all the variety of work!
